The L20 team took an active part in the workshop organized by the Employment and Education Working Groups of the G20
On 10 and 11 April, the workshop "Building Opportunities for an inclusive Future of Work" organized by the Employment and Education Working Groups of the G20 was held at the Centro Cultural Néstor Kirchner (CCK) in the city of Buenos Aires.
During the days that the event lasted, representatives of companies such as Microsoft, Linkedin and other institutions like the World Bank, ECLAC (Economic Commission for Latin American and the Caribbean) as well as members of the Business 20 Engagement Group, Labour 20 and Women 20, among others, took part. Fundamental issues were addressed to face the challenges that the future of the world of work proposes in terms of employability and inclusion.
The fourth technological and digital revolution and its impact on routine task automations, artificial intelligence, new forms of working generated by technological advances, and the importance of the adaptation of the current educational system to train young people so that they can be prepared to face a future, which in principle may be uncertain, were the issues that set the agenda of the meeting.
The Labour20, in its role of the representative of the interests of workers at the G20 level, emphasized the importance of facing challenges that innovations and technological advances will bring along by placing the focus on on the social dialogue, the respect of labour rights and social protection floors as the only way to achieve an inclusive future of work.
