Gerardo Martinez, Chair of the L20, gave the "L20 Statement to the G20 Summit" in Buenos Aires - Argentina
Gerardo Martínez, Chair of the L20, delivered to the President of the Republic of Argentina, Mauricio Macri -President of the G20-, the L20 Statement for Leaders and Heads of State during a meeting prior to the Summit of G20 Leaders that will take place in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
The L20 urges the G20 Leaders to promote the effective exercise of the fundamental rights of unionization and collective bargaining; guarantee vital and mobile minimum wages; strengthen universal social protection systems; and eliminate informality, slavery and child labor from global supply chains.
Gerardo Martínez said that the workers reaffirm "... our conviction about the importance of consensus arising from social dialogue ..." "... Workers know that the way to achieve sustainable development, as expressed in the agenda 2030, is to prioritize public policies that lay the foundations for a definitive take-off ... "" ... Workers want a just transition to achieve a society that does not hinder digital progress or the advancement of technologies,directing this progress to service and for the benefit of citizens ... "
